The Trainer's Incentive Program is great! For folks who've not got the six foot fences, it's a great way to get into mustangs.
Artista looks great. I'm sure you'll do quite well in TX!
Hi Robert, I love your comment about how great mustangs are...I think I might borrow that. I tell everyone I can about them and let them know there isn't anything they can't do.
I am looking into the incentive program - it was the 6 ft fence requirements that kept me from adopting sooner than I did, and I don't want that to stop someone from experiencing these great horses!
I have added your blog link to my page. Can't believe I didn't do it sooner!
You and Artista are doing great! I can't wait to meet the both of you.
Hasn't this been the trip of a lifetime?
See ya! Karen and Tripp
Great article, Robert.
Robert,
Wow what an impressive site. I love all of the pictures. You had mentioned in 1 of my posts that you might have some suggestions as to help me get my yearlings to trot at a lead. I have tried just about everything including having someone behind them. Mia(the huge bay roan) is the worse, she won't even speed up. If you could offer some suggestions, I would really appreciate it. Sometimes, I feel like I made them too much of a pet. They are all so gentle and I feel confident with their leading and trailering abilities. I have put my heart & soul into these 3, and I really want to do well. Contrary to what a lot of people might think-I do all of the work with my horses, my parents are there offering support and suggestions, and an extra body when I walk the 3 around together. I look forward to meeting you in Texas. I'm keeping a list of everyone I chat with so I can try to look them up in Ft. Worth. Looks like you have done an amazing job with Artista.
Thanks for everything, Kirstin.
Robert, Thanks for the advise. I will definitely give it a try. My little guys aren't afraid of a whip, rope or flag stick either, I guess that makes it a little harder. I keep you posted on how it goes. Thanks, Kirstin
Hey Robert,
Thanks for the advice. I have gotten both of the fillies to trot-not all of the time, but we are working on it. Gelding is still resisting, speeding up his walk, but not trotting yet. I took my roan to my playday awards ceremony(I finished 4th overall) and I was able to get her to trot the entire length of the arena and then we trotted all the way to the trailer. It's not an immediate trot, but a trot just the same. Mia(the roan) is pretty awesome looking. I have never seen a roan like her. She is extremely gentle, sometimes I think too gentle. She never, ever exhibited any "wild" in her. The big picture of her & me was taken 2 weeks after I brought her home. I even put a saddle on her this weekend without any problem. Nothing seems to scare her. I have put a tarp on her, a swim ring on her head(I'll post that this week-it's funny), bounce balls off on her. Again thanks for the tip. I feel like I'm running out of time and there is so much more that I want to do. The worse part-school starts in a couple of weeks. Hope to see you in Texas. Kirstin
